Two weekends with Wai Gong

After we got back from California, Wai Gong came to spend time with us. The first weekend, we just relaxed and went to the park. Wai Gong arrived on Thursday night, so he was very excited on Friday morning when I told him Wai Gong was here. He went in and woke him up. On Saturday morning, Ian woke up and the first thing he asked was if he could go wake up Wai Gong (which he did by banging very loudly on his door and yelling "Wai Gong!"). Just before Wai Gong's visit, Jeff set up the furniture we had bought for the new bedroom/office, so Wai Gong could sleep there. That bed is now officially "Wai Gong's bed". He like jumping on Wai Gong's bed and would dismiss me from the room -- "Bye, Mommy." Wai Gong did not yell him for jumping on the bed, so he tried to get rid of me whenever he coudl.

Jeff had to go to an event in New Jersey on Saturday, so the three of us went to the park, where Ian drew and climbed and ran around, with some help from Wai Gong:

Then we went to have some pizza (our usualy weekend routine these days), which Ian loves. Wai Gong loves pizza, too, and wants to have it every time he visits because you just can't get good pizza in Taipei.

The following weekend, Wai Gong came on Saturday evening for dinner. He got a new camera and was so excited taking pictures of Ian that he fell over:

Then on Sunday we all went to the zoo before he had to catch his flight to Las Vegas. Ian went on his first camel ride with Daddy AND we rode the monorail AND we rode the Zoo Shuttle (a tram) back to the parking lot. So Ian got to ride a camel and TWO trains. He pointed out that the monorail didn't have any wheels, but the shuttle did.

Ian fell asleep on the ride home, but then refused to go back to sleep once we got home, so after letting him sing in his crib while we had a quick snack (pizza) and watched the French Open Men's Final, Daddy got him out and he went with Daddy to drop Wai Gong off at the airport. We had a great time with Wai Gong!
