"We can't ALL be Slaters!"

Jeff said that he had a conversation with Ian last week about his name that went something like this:

Jeff: "Daddy's name is Jeff Slater."
Ian (laughing hysterically): "No, your name can't be Slater!"
Jeff: "Yes, Daddy's name is Slater just like Ian's."
Ian (still laughing): "No, there can't be TWO Slaters!"
Jeff: "Yes, we're both Slaters. And Grandpa's name is Slater, too."
Ian (really hysterical now): "NO, we can't ALL be Slaters!"

This discussion came about because there is a new Ian at his daycare center who is not in his class. ("There are two Ians, but I'm Ian Slater") Although he has known that his last name is Slater for quite some time, I think the second Ian's arrival has created new awareness of his last name.
