Hello! We got back on Sunday night from our Bahamas vacation, so we've been getting back into our schedule and catching up with work, etc.
We went to Great Guana Cay in the Bahamas with our friends Francis and Zeynep and had a fabulous time. We were a little worried about Ian, but as he always does, he came through for us. We had to fly from LaGuardia to Miami, then take a small plane from Miami to Marsh Harbour in the Abacos. From the Marsh Harbour airport, we took a taxi to the marina, where we picked up our rental boat (a 26-foot boat). It was a 30-minute boat ride going at top speed (which Ian really seemed to enjoy) to get to Great Guana. It was a bit cold when we arrived, but it was still warmer than New York!
Once we docked the boat, the caretaker of our rental house, Little Mindy, came to meet us in a golf cart. That's the way most people get around on the island. There are not very many cars. Ian didn't want to get out of the boat and protested until we got in the golf cart and started it up. Then he was happy. We arrived at the house and it was just like the pictures on line, if not better (www.bluesurfcottage.com). The ocean view was FANTASTIC.
We had a great week relaxing at the cottage, going on the boat, and exploring other islands. Jeff went on a dive on Tuesday, but I was happy just to relax (the water was still a bit cold for me). Ian and I explored Great Guana while the rest of the gang was diving.
