Ian caught a cold at school on Friday and he was just miserable all day yesterday, with a runny nose and cough. Poor guy. Also, because he had been routinely waking up between 11:30 and 2:00 every night, Jeff got tough and let him cry it out on Friday night when he started crying around midnight. He cried for an hour. However, it seems like it might have done the trick because he didn't wake up until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and then on Saturday night he slept from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m.! Ian was a little antsy in the house yesterday, but it's been quite cold so we didn't go outside, even though he cried and wanted to go out the front door. We went to the mall late in the afternoon and he seemed to be very happy in the car, finally going somewhere. At the mall, he wanted to push his own stroller and was very serious about it. If I went in a direction he didn't like, he would take two hands and redirect it. We had all the salespeople in Crate & Barrel complimenting his cuteness.

Cindy and Dennis came to have brunch and visit with us today and Ian once again welcomed Dennis with open arms (literally). Of course, then we realized that he felt so comfortable in Dennis' lap that he took care of some "business" and was a bit stinky after a while...

His cold was much better today, but he is still a bit under the weather. He didn't want to be in the bath and then wouldn't let me put a diaper on or dress him. He started falling asleep while I was holding him in his towel. It was only about 6:30. I managed to get him dressed and he fell asleep pretty quickly, but of course, as soon has his butt touched the mattress, his eyes popped open and he started crying. After letting him have his way a little longer, I just put him down and he screamed for a couple of minutes, but quickly fell asleep. Let's keep our fingers crossed for tonight!
