Ian seems to have made progress in the last 48 hours towards walking. He was taking 3 or 4 steps without falling. It kind of looks like he's dancing because he takes such tiny steps. He has a great sense of balance -- he can catch himself sometimes when he's falling.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, he was pushing a stepstool around the kitchen. Everyone was in the dining room, so he pushed it to the doorway, but got stuck on the doorstep. Ian picked up the stool and put it over the doorstep in the dining room, then continued to push it. And when we were at the Nikkahs' house, he was pushing their barstool around the kitchen, then he crawled towards the family room. There is a tiny step down from the kitchen into the family room, maybe a 2-inch drop at most. Ian got to the step and reached out to feel it. Then he turned around and put one foot over the doorway and down onto the floor. It was so funny how careful he was. At home, he just goes headfirst down the step into the living room.

This is a picture of him "talking" at the top of his voice. Cindy and Dennis came over this afternoon. They could only stay for about 45 minutes and Ian was showing off his walking skills the whole time. The video was taken this afternoon after they left. He doesn't do a lot of walking in this video, but you can see what a boy he has become. He loves to tip over the walker: www.alanfeng.com/flora/2005-12-04-01.MOV.
